On Wednesday night I went to a gig for the first time in probably 4 years, which is kind of insane. As far as I can remember, the last time was Beyoncé and Jay Z in June 2018. The pandemic didn't happen until 2020 so I can't blame that for the absence of live music in my life! It felt a bit surreal hearing so many people around you screaming the lyrics to songs that you've been listening to on repeat for months. I've been listening to Kendrick's 2022 album a lot this year, in my room, when I bake, and when I go for a run (which admittedly is not that often haha). If I'm being honest I didn't know who Tanna Leone was, he was great though, and he joined Kendrick again later on in the show.

The vibe was great. I was curious to see what they would do in terms of the staging because the layout of the stage was quite unique. At one point, part of the stage rose up and Kendrick was standing on it, looking down at the crowd. My favourite tracks from the night: King Kunta, Family Ties, LOVE. (from DAMN) and Alright.
I hope Kendrick enjoyed performing to the Glasgow crowd. People were chanting "Kendrick! Kendrick! Kendrick!" which sounded kind of amusing in a Scottish accent. It was a great experience, and it's motivated me to see more live music whenever I can. I'm really happy that we're at a point where we can safely do things like travel again and see live music. Being in this massive crowd of people would have been unheard of this time last year due to the pandemic.
A wee TikTok I made
