The Smoking Goat 🐐🚬

The Smoking Goat is a quirky wee basement pub! In recent years they've expanded their food menu a lot, they used to just do nachos and hotdogs (which were great, but it's always good to have options!). Now they also do loaded fries, burgers, waffles...the list goes on. They also opened up a beer garden a few years ago during the pandemic which is always a great idea on a sunny day!

Fav Pizza 🍕

The Pizzaioli Ayr and The Pizzaioli To Go

The pizza from The Pizzaioli is so good. The pizzas have a perfectly thin base, I never feel disgustingly full after eating them like I would with a Domino's! I like Domino's but I think their sides are better than the actual pizza (particularly the chicken sides and the cookies). To me, the pizza often tastes like bland cardboard. The Pizzaioli also do amazing focaccia (def recommend). Service in the takeaway is always super speedy. I'm all about supporting local businesses and this one really deserves some love!

Homer THAI 2Go and At Home Thai

I've ordered Homer Thai 2Go a few times and have never been disappointed! It's always so fresh and delicious, and the staff are nice and friendly! Some of my fav dishes I've tried are the calamari and the veggie spring rolls. They've added a lot of Japanese style food to their menu too, I've had chicken katsu curry a couple of times and it was fab. Would recommend to everyone! Will need to visit the restaurant sometime, the interior looks cool!

Ruby 7 Days

I don't have any pics :( it's rly nice tho

I've only had Ruby 7 Days once but to this day I think it's the best Chinese I've ever had! Everything tasted super light and fresh, it wasn't too heavy or greasy which takeaway food can sometimes be.

Fav Tempura 🍤

Tempura...and Tempura 2go

I haven't paid the restaurant a visit yet but I've had takeaway from Tempura 2go a few times and really enjoyed it! I tried their filthy fries recently which were good!

Honourable mention: The Treehouse also does very good tempura

There's a few Indian restaurants in Ayr: The Rupee Room, Ayr India and my personal fav, 3idiots. I really rate it, it's always great. Just thinking about an Indian takeaway has me dreaming about curry and naan bread so I'm going to stop talking about it! Recommend for sure.

Fav Ice Cream 🍦

Renaldo's

I pretty much always get the same thing from Renaldo’s, a strawberry ice cream in a cone but I also love McCallum’s Crunch (vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce and pieces of honeycomb). They also do realllly good milkshakes. If you have a rough day one of these might just cheer you up…or give you brain freeze, can go either way.

Fav Brunch/Dinner 🍳

These are all reliable options if you fancy a nice burger and fries, pasta or even a stack of pancakes...I couldn't choose just one!

♡ The Treehouse/Tbar

I recently had mac and cheese at The Treehouse which was really good. Also obsessed with the chicken bar buns, I could probably eat them every day!! Tbar is a good spot for a few wee drinks next door to the restaurant.

♡ Fox and Willow

Fox and Willow have wee domes that you can eat in, they kind of resemble igloos! They also have a pretty big beer garden which is fab in the summer.

♡ GRO Coffee Ayr

GRO has a really cute cosy atmosphere with lots of fairy lights and it's dog friendly 🐶 they also do MASSIVE cakes. My friend got me this huge jam donut once when I was bed bound with COVID which was greatly appreciated 😆 it was soooo yummy. I say that a lot, but it was.

Fav Coffee Shop ☕️

Narture Artisan Cafe

I went to Narture recently and liked it a lot, really loved the wall art (which was done by @saskiajaesinger on Instagram), 2the green floor and the wee chairs which matched the walls. So cute! I got a blueberry muffin and tea, so yummy.

That's all my recommendations for now! There's still a couple of places I haven't tried yet that look pretty good, like The Bistro and a dessert place called Whipp & Waffle which is right next to Renaldo's! Hoping to try in the not too distant future.
